The Strehn family is located in Deutschkreutz in Mittelburgenland, also called the Blaufränkischland. Joseph Strehn founded the winery in the 1950s, and since then the focus has remained on Blaufränkisch. All aspects of production are overseen by Monika Strehn, the mother of the third generation. Son Patrick is the winemaker, daughter Pia manages the 50 hectare estate and youngest son Andreas is in charge of the vineyards. The Strehns began converting to organic two years ago, and the plan is to become certified biodynamic in the near future. Strehn's wines are spontaneously fermented and aged in Austrian and Hungarian oak.
