Champagne Brocard Pierre. The Brocard family traces their lineage in champagne to the 11th century. Current winemaker Thibaud Brocard's great-great-grandfather George Brocard founded the Brocard Pierre champagne house in 1932. He was followed by Emile Brocard, Henri Brocard, and Pierre Brocard, Thibaud's father. Thibaud is the 5th generation of the Brocard family and took over managing Champagne Brocard Pierre and its 6.5 hectare vineyards after spending 5 years in Burgundy working at wineries. Brocard uses organic and biodynamic farming practices in the vineyards, and produces mostly vintage champagnes with a single grape varietal from one parcel, with a long aging on the lees to keep the expression of his vineyards intact.
